Featured Shop Showcase - Volga Verdi

Luminous Screenprinted Tees

image

Born in California in 2010, clothing line ‘Volga Verdi’ breaks the mould of ‘normality’ - with a range of luminous tees that penetrate the eyelids and prompt the minds of curious onlookers.

Founder, Peter Green, lends a creative hand and mind to a collection which he succinctly describes as ‘Superbright’. Every design is an extension of his vivid imagination that sees no boundaries, just a kaleidoscope of color!

The Arbre Solarie Tee is a vibrant, geometric rendition of the type of mountainous tree frequently-seen by avid snowboarders. Let the staring contest begin!

“I want Volga Verdi to be associated with bright, and of course high-quality clothing. I want people to go like… ‘Oh something bright would look good with this outfit - let me check what’s new at Volga Verdi’ - that would be perfect. Not that we won’t make anything dark, but I can’t imagine us making anything usual. It must be crazy and unique in some way.”

The brand’s focus is on the visual perception of each design, from the geometry to its colorway - no detail is glossed over. Peter experiments with different lines, shapes and shading across his collection, which intends to appeal to style-geeks and fashionistas alike - basically anyone who wants to make a indelibly bold statement through their dress sense!

“Try imagining yourself wearing it. What colors will go well with it? Paint it, construct it in your head, enjoy it. We provide the bright media for your imagination. Volga Verdi is not just a clothing company — it is an art-oriented enterprise”

Proudly drawing inspiration from a multitude of different avenues, both creative and scientific, including astronomy, fine art, graphic design and nature - it’s not difficult to realise why he’s on such a creative high!

The luminous penguin graphic adorning VV’s ‘Peaceful Invaders Tee’ draws on the brand’s core philosophy - serving nature, in a peaceful way.

“Volga Verdi’s first collection features minimalistic statements together with pieces that explore color, shape perception and dynamics.”

Each one of VV’s tees carries its own weight in terms of quality and appeal - there are no weak links in this collection. Made from US ring-spun cotton and screenprinted in California, these supremely-bright tees were made to be as comfortable as they are irresistibly quirky - character and style has never before been so well matched.image

“It should make you look good, not just look good on a shelf. VV produces abstract images that are universal building blocks for your style.”

Peter does away with envirnomentally-unfriendly, plastisol inks in favour of water-based PVC-free alternatives - keeping the brand’s carbon foot print low, while ensuring that the brightness stays high!

One way to define Volga Verdi is by their lack of compromise. Green’s brand is progressive, sustainability-minded and bleeds color - challenging the human eye’s ability to withstand exceptionally bright color with every garment!
